You may well be aware of some of the problems I've had over the years with The Student Loans Company. I've ranted about them in pubs and on internet forums for long enough!  For those of you who don't know, I'll explain as briefly as possible:

In 1995 I graduated and instead of cashing in on my qualifications, I opted for a career in the Civil Service and Local Government. A career path noted for it's lack of financial reward. As a result, I've never quite earned enough to have to pay back the various loans I took out with The Student Loans Company.

Those of you who have gone through Higher Education will know that you have to earn a certain amount before the loans become re-payable.

Every year after graduation I sent in my wage-slips with the application form requesting deferment, and every year without fail The Student Loans Company lost my paperwork, and I would have to send it all in again.

About five years ago they started to do their job properly, and defer my loans as they should. That is until 2006, when it all started to go wrong...
